Peng Jian is a Boya Distinguished Professor at Peking University, a Chang Jiang Scholar Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education, and the Chief Scientist of a National Key R&D Program of China. His research primarily focuses on the coupling of landscape patterns and socio-ecological processes. He currently serves as President of the Chinese Chapter of the International Association for Landscape Ecology, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Society of Natural Resources, Co-Editor-in-Chief ofApplied Geography, and Subject Editor ofProgress in Physical Geography. He has received the Second Prize of Science and Technology in Natural Resources.
