Expert Profile:
Liu Xiaowen previously served as Deputy Director of the Office for the National Survey on Soil Pollution Status and Head of the Technical Steering Group for the preparation of the 14th Five-Year Plan for Soil and Rural Ecological Environment Protection. He has organized and carried out several national key technical tasks. As project leader, he has led and completed multiple national key R&D projects; he has also presided over major pollution control projects such as the e-waste dismantling pollution prevention in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, and the comprehensive pollution control of abandoned mines in Baihe County, Shaanxi Province. He has received nine awards, including the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award; has been granted 16 domestic invention patents and 2 international invention patents; published 103 papers in the field of soil pollution prevention and control, and authored six monographs.
He is a recipient of the Special Government Allowance of the State Council, a member of the 13th Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPPCC, a member of the National Expert Committee on Ecological and Environmental Protection, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee on Soil Ecological Environment Protection, an expert in the overall expert group for the National Key Science and Technology Project for Integrated Environmental Management in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, and Executive Deputy Director of the Ecological Environmental Remediation Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, among other roles.
