The 7th National Congress of the China Association for Scientific Expedition (CASE) was held in Beijing on April 12, 2025. Professor Wang Nai'ang from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Lanzhou University was elected as an Executive Member and Vice President of the 7th Council of CASE. He was also appointed Chair of the Desert Scientific Expedition Committee.

Founded on January 21, 1989, the China Association for Scientific Expedition is a national, industry-based social organization composed of scientific and technological professionals, enthusiasts of scientific exploration, and individuals who support and care about the advancement of scientific expeditions. CASE operates under the guidance and supervision of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the People's Republic of China.
The association aims to unite scientists in exploring and understanding the mysteries and laws of nature, promote and develop scientific expedition initiatives, and foster a spirit of patriotism, exploration, scientific pursuit, and perseverance among young people.
